How Do I Re-enable Ballon Tips?

To Enable The Noti­fi­ca­tion Area Bal­loon Tips

1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then press ENTER.

2. Nav­i­gate to the fol­low­ing sub­key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

3. Right-click the right pane, cre­ate a new DWORD value, and then name it EnableBalloonTips.

4. Double-click this new entry, and then give it a hexa­dec­i­mal value of 1. ( 1 Enables Bal­loon Tips, and 0 Dis­ables Bal­loon Tips )

5. Quit Reg­istry Edi­tor. Log off Win­dows, and then log back on.

These steps enable all Noti­fi­ca­tion Area bal­loon tips for this user. There is no way to dis­able bal­loon tips for spe­cific pro­grams only.

    I’m not quite sure I under­stand your ques­tion. Was our Bal­loon Tips fix an unsuc­cess­ful ende­vour in your expe­ri­ence? This should apply to most Win­dows sys­tems. In our expe­ri­ence, this fix was valid in the fol­low­ing sys­tems, ME, XP, Vista, and even Win­dows 7. If you are infact still with­out Bal­loon Tips after apply­ing this fix, describe to us your prob­lem in detail. Hope this was helpful.
